Spring 2014 Anime Preview- Of Interest

No Game No Life 2014 anime series

The Spring 2014 Anime preview chart has now been released for some time now and with it comes some new and exciting anime for 2014. There are quite a few this time around that plan on following for Spring.

This current or should I say nearly over Winter 2014 anime season had only a few anime really watched. The main anime series followed were Noragami, Hamatora: The Animation, Nobunaga the Fool, and Space Dandy.

While there were quite a lot of anime series for the Winter only followed a select few based on animation and story concept.

Spring 2014 seems to have quite a lot of beautifully animated series to premiere and their story concepts on almost all them planning to air seem pretty interesting. Still again have to choose anime series mostly for their quality animation and story concept.

As a series begins and see then will post a couple of reviews on impressions of the series. Story execution and how well handled the animation is would then affect if continue to watch and if recommend. It seems like a great Winter 2014 Anime Season and hopefully it will turn out that way with these anime series.

No Game, No Life

Animation Studio: Madhouse Studios

April 9, 2014

Siblings Sora and Shiro are a pair of hikikomori NEETs who together form, an undefeated online gamer and urban legend. They both consider the real world to be a “crappy game”. They are summoned by a boy calling himself “God” to a fantasy world where he has forbidden all violence and warfare between the sixteen intelligent races living there; instead, everything is decided by games. The siblings find themselves the would-be saviors of humanity (Imanity), who rank sixteenth among the races and have been confined to their sole remaining city.

Genre: Fantasy, Adventure, Comedy

No Game, No Life sounds like a fun concept. A world decided by video games and a sibling duo as the main characters could go in an interesting direction.

I am interested in seeing how good the animation is by Madhouse. I am pretty sure they have turned out some wonderfully animated works in the past.

Escha and Loy no Atelier: Tasogare no Renkinjutsushi

Animation Studio: Studio Gokumi

April 10, 2014

The world has gone through many Dusks and is slowly nearing its end. In order to survive the eventual arrival of the “Dusk End”, the people gathered and devoted their efforts to discover and recreate lost alchemical technologies in a city known as “Central”. One of the heroes is a young man named Logy who researched alchemy in Central, the other is a girl named Escha who lives in a small town on the frontier. Logy meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department. The two make a promise to use their alchemy together, and bring success to the Development Department.

Genre: Fantasy

Fantasy has always held my interest, so this anime series is one really looking forward to since it is primarily geared as Fantasy. The character designs seems very fun and fitting to the Fantasy world so it could turn out to be something special.

Mekaku City Actors

Animation Studio: Shaft

April 12, 2014

The incidents which occurred on August 14th and 15th bring a group of young boys and girls together…

They are members of a group they call themselves the “Mekakushi Dan” (Blindfold Organization) and each member possesses a strange power involving their eyes. Will the members of this peculiar organization be able to solve the mysteries behind these incidents and see the truth?

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Mystery, Romance

One of the only anime series planning to watch for the Spring 2014 Season primarily for the animation and beautiful character designs.

Hitsugi no Chaika

Animation Studio: Bones

April 9, 2014

Toru Acura is a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin, and follows her in hopes of finding meaning to his life again. The two travel with Toru’s adopted sister, Akari, the employed member of the group and thus Toru’s source of income.

Genre: Fantasy, Romance

The main heroine, Chaika, is just so cute can’t help but want to know more about this series. The animation is also done by studio Bones and always make it a thing to see anything that Bones turns out. They always turn out visually appealing animation and make it unique for various anime series. They are also very good at having firmly developed story creations for all the anime series they animate.

Black Bullet

Animation Studio: Kinema Citrus

April 8, 2014

In the year 2021, mankind was defeated by Gastrea, a parasitical virus, and is forced to live within a wall made of Baranuim monoliths, a metal that is able to subdue Gastrea. Soon, the “Cursed Children”, children born infected with the Gastrea virus who are able to control them which gives them superhuman abilities, was discovered. Due to the Gastrea virus’ intervention, the Cursed Children could only be female. Civil Securities are formed to specialize fighting against Gastrea, operating with the pair of an Initiator, who are cursed children, and a Promoter, serving to lead the cursed children. Ten years after the war, Rentarō Satomi, a high school student who is also a Promoter in his childhood friend Kisara Tendō’s Tendō Civil Security, along with his Initator Enju Aihara, receives a secret mission to prevent the Tokyo Area’s destruction.

Genre: Science Fiction, Mystery, Action

The animation is the biggest draw here to watch Black Bullet although like knowing that it also is science fiction. Hopefully it is an interesting and intelligent story at work as well. Get the feeling it is going to be really good.

Date A Live II

Animation Studio: AIC Plus

April 11, 2014

Continuation of Date A Live. Season 2.

Genre: Fantasy, Action, Comedy, Romance

More Tohka being cute is always welcomed and the romance.

The Irregular at Magic High School

Animation Studio: Madhouse Studios

April 5, 2014

The Magic University Affiliated High School is welcoming its new students, and names the top student with the best grades at the time of their arrival the Bloom and the student called the Weed is the Bloom’s replacement. Siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba are designated as the Weed and Bloom respectively.

Miyuki is given the title of Bloom due to her amazing grades, while Tatsuya is given the title of Weed due to his poor magical practical scores. Tatsuya, the young man who always has a farsighted expression, and Miyuki, the young woman who feels more for her brother than sibling love.

Genre: Comedy, Magic, Science Fiction, Romance

Irregular at Magic High School is hard to judge story-wise but the animation looks so gorgeous. It is hard to pass up. It helps that LiSA and Elisa will be singing the theme songs. LiSA the Opening Theme Song and Elisa the Ending Theme Song.

Animation Studio: Arms

April 6, 2014

When he was a child, Murakami was infatuated with a girl he called Kuroneko. She insisted on knowing about aliens and having met them, but no one believed her, even young Murakami was skeptical.

One day, she decides to show him the aliens, but an accident occurs and Kuroneko dies while Murakami is left seriously wounded in the hospital. Years go by and Murakami obsesses on finding proof of the existence of aliens because of a promise he had made with Kuroneko. Then, one day, a new transfer student comes to his class, who not only looks a lot like Kuroneko, but is named Kurohaneko. And even though she insists on never having met Murakami before, the girl has superhuman strength and seems to even be able to predict the future.

Genre: Mystery, Psychological, Drama, Action, Science Fiction

The mystery of the story is the biggest engage factor. The animation by studio Arms though is a big draw too.

M3: Sono Kuroki Hagane

Animation Studio: Satelight

(UPDATED: March 21, 2014. M3 is one anime series will be watching. Reviewing too.)

April 22, 2014

There is distorted, deep blackness everywhere. That place, in which blackness swallowed everything and took away everything, has become known as the avidya zone. Strange beings assume the very form of the despair and chaos of humanity. They are known by this name: Imashime. An expedition surveys the avidya zone which consumes human spirits.

Genre: Mecha, Action

So, in the intricate intersection between the present in impending crisis and the destiny of the past … can eight boys and girls, assembled to confront the Imashime, find the bright future that lies before the avidya zone?

This looks very interesting even if the series looks like it will be handling some dark material. Animation studio Satelight worked on Nobunaga the Fool so have great interest in seeing more from them in M3. They had beautiful animation in Nobunaga the Fool so surely they will make M3 just as nice to see.

Kamigami no Asobi

Mostly just going to follow because love the animation, like the genre of the series, and one of the characters will be voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya.
