FUNimation acquires Free! Eternal Summer Streaming + Home Video Rights!

In a very surprising turn of events, FUNimation, has licensed Free! Eternal Summer for streaming this summer as well as gaining the home video rights for Free! Eternal Summer.

Free! the anime series was one property that just was not picked up by any anime company in North America but finally FUNimation Entertainment has done just that!

While it is yet unknown if they have the streaming rights and home video rights for Free! Iwatobi Swim Club new updates may be forthcoming despite the obvious speculation already.

FUNimation will premiere the first episode and the whole of Free! Eternal Summer on Funimation‘s streaming service on July 2 at 11:30 a.m. EDT| Wednesdays. Crunchyroll had also previously announced on their website they had streaming rights.

Get Prepared for Free! Eternal Summer

Remember make sure you show FUNimation or Crunchyroll your simulcast watching numbers. They do apparently matter when it comes to home video. Watch the episodes even if you are a free subscriber on FUNimation’s website. All episodes become available for free subscribers a week after the official aired release date. Free! Eternal Summer Episode 1 for Elite subscribers on July 2 and therefore for free subscribers on July 9. The same goes for Crunchyroll.
