Enigmatic Feeling by Ling Tosite Sigure CD+DVD Limited Edition Review

With Ling Tosite Sigure more and more it is becoming obvious that the music most like from them is their newer work. While their old work is very much a welcome view to their younger years. I can’t help but believe strongly that their newer music is so much more carefully crafted and has likely also seen them all gain more experience with years of perfecting their music together. I am no expert but as a fan of the trio band I tend to enjoy their newer single releases. Do not mistake me though their songs like Illusion is Mine, Feeling Your UFO, and Telecastic Fake Show are as strong as any material from their songs from 2012-onwards. Yet it stands that they do show a sense of evolution since then. Enigmatic Feeling CD+DVD is as expected from them.

A mixture of aggressive rock music with a certain enigma around it. Likely TK and 345’s vocals playing a hand in this. The Enigmatic Feeling CD+DVD contains 2 discs. One being the CD which holds: Enigmatic Feeling (3:54), Dynamite Nonsense (3:44), and Enigmatic Feeling TV Edit (1:33). The TV Edit being part of the opening theme song for Psycho-Pass 2!

Enigmatic Feeling is without a doubt their most aggressive rock song both in terms of energy and lyrics. With TK and 345 having a back and forth perfect singing balance. Despite the various little musical complexities that seem to define Ling Tosite Sigure their voices carry over all the chaotic music.

The second song known as Dynamite Nonsense is much more kept in control by TK’s surprisingly calm and placid singing still, of course, giving in to his sharp and dreamy overtures of screamo. And yes I consider TK’s screamo dreamy sounding. With Dynamite Nonsense a real treat is 1:54-2:05 where you can hear both the guitar and is it the bass playing along with the drums from Pierre Nakano and while a short piece it is quite enjoyable. We all notice those pieces Ling Tosite Sigure! Yet here too 345 accompanies him. Making me think that just like Chara from Fantastic Magic (TK’s solo act from the Fantastic Magic CD album) 345 may be another female singer that can be capable to accompany TK and his unique vocals. 345 more for his aggressive and clear vocals rather than his soft and delicate ones.

DVD contains the Enigmatic Feeling Music Video

Disc 2, the DVD, contains the Enigmatic Feeling Music Video and the Psycho-Pass 2 non-credit opening movie or also known as the opening theme song.

A worthwhile single CD+DVD release for my collection of Ling Tosite Sigure music. Then again not sure can ever be surprised with the sheer amount of quality from the trio band.
