Tips on Finding Anime or Manga Giveaways

Naruto Set 1 and Naruto Shippuden Set 1 Giveaway from NeonAlley

One of the most important skills to have as a fan of either anime or manga would be how to best seek out contests, sweepstakes, and or giveaways for anime or manga. Since you are likely not a newbie your interest in anime likely borders on very passionate. Meaning there is probably something just waiting to be marked off a large wishlist. So if possible winning some anime or manga is never a bad thing.

If it seems like there are just never enough options for anime or manga giveaways then here are some tips! Sometimes your best bet is to become a reader of a large anime/manga website like Anime News Network. They often have sources of contests or information on where to enter for contests, sweepstakes, or giveaways. With Anime News Network they have a set page where you can just check on contests monthly.

Anime/Manga News Networks

Crunchyroll (Worldwide)

Anime News Network (North America)

Flickering Myth (UK)

The Fandom Post (USA)

Otaku USA Official Website (USA)

Three If By Space (USA)

Goodreads (Mostly USA)

Option #2 go with anime blogs and manga blogs. There is always some blogger who might be interested in hosting giveaways. With anime and manga blogging it is part of the territory to occasionally promote a certain anime or manga. Due to that there is no better way to get an anime fan to try a series then by giving away anime or manga. First try finding a blogger who speaks to you and or has similar tastes in anime and manga to yours. Signing up for their e-newsletter also would be a big advantage.

The most important tip to seek contests, sweepstakes, or giveaways around related anime or manga including merchandise is to keep updated with the anime or manga companies in your country. In the USA, NISA of America, has contests for those signed up to their e-newsletter. Sentai Filmworks and FUNimation occasionally also have giveaways or sweepstakes running. Keep your eye on their social media portals in those cases or better yet sign-up for Sentai Filmwork’s e-newsletter and FUNimation’s. They both have recently implemented this feature for anime fans to keep updated on news and those e-newsletters sometimes have giveaway notices. While VIZ Media hosted for a period during Spring 2014 only a series of Watch and Win Giveaways.

There are ways to find giveaways, contests, or sweepstakes related to anime or manga but staying up-to-date is a must. By the way, everyone, Rightstuf in partnership with Sentai Filmworks is actually having an anime contest for Non Non Biyori right now running until January 21. 2015. Get in your entry and good luck!

  1. I think Yen Press has giveaways via goodreads although they’re always US only giveaways. I live outside of US so I’m having a hard time when it comes to manga giveaways.

    • Whoops! I forgot Goodreads does have some giveaways. And here I have known about them since I have won a few giveaways from them here and there. It sort of slipped my mind. You know. I like your suggestion. I’ll edit this post and add in Goodreads (USA) mostly for manga giveaways.
