First Look-Seraph of the End

Seraph of the End–2015 Director: Daisuke Tokutsuchi | Animation Studio: WIT Studio

The series is at its heart a story of intrigue where vampires having overrun some parts of human society are at war with an organization that messes with strange experiments concerning demon weapons. And if anyone knows about infernal devices this almost always involves becoming involved with demons. Contracts and unholy dealings. But due to this warring between the demon weapon wielding organization and the vampires it unfortunately breeds the hatred of a young man named Yuu who loses his adopted family due to all this fighting and upheaval.

Seraph of the End anime series-Yuu and his agressive attitude Part 3

Yuu, the main character, having a very aggressive, combative personality from a young age though realizes he has to try to actually fall into the good graces of the demon weapon wielding company. Then it is with time he grows to actually mellow out in terms of his more aggressive attitude and actually build friendly relationships with the members of the demon wielding organization. Unfortunately for Yuu there are various secrets being kept from him. That in a nutshell is the focus of the story of Seraph of the End.

Seraph of the End anime series-The underground Vampire city Part 3

A very dark urban, gritty animation style. Given this is a Dark Fantasy anime series. It actually is the best for the anime. It did stand out quite nicely too.

This will be the first anime series where I have been actively reading the manga series which by the way is still ongoing. And I have to say from the the anime series opener this is certainly an anime that diverges from the manga series. Due to that, this might be a little different in terms of small event occurrences from the manga. I do not mind it since I am not the type that would care for something being absolutely true to its source material unless it went completely different.

While the first episode of Seraph of the End was underwhelming I still believe it could be an anime filled with potential since I am following the original source material by Takaya Kagami, Daisuke Furuya, and Yamato Yamamoto which is very immersive reading material particularly when it comes to its Dark Fantasy setting construct. The anime just needs to not pack too much story progression from the manga per episode. If it can do that then it wont be dragged down by too much going on per episode. It could be another of the surprises of Spring 2015 along with Is it Wrong to Try to pick up Girls in a Dungeon?
