es or s Limited Edition by Ling Tosite Sigure Review [Extended Edition]

While time has gone by from when I reviewed es or s by Ling Tosite Sigure, I, now give you what I’m sure many of you were waiting for. Not my thoughts and small criticisms on es or s but the actual presentation of es or s on Limited Edition.

*There are way more photos in the es or s mini photobook but I chose these to display*

While this Sony Music Associated Records release is mouth-watering even before ordering es or s I was not sure what I would be doing with the LP. The 7-inch vinyl record included with the Limited Edition is impractical considering I would need the required equipment for the vinyl record. Due to that, I will have to keep the LP as a nice little Ling Tosite Sigure collectible instead. That aside the design of the photobook is very pretty and on the front cover of the photobook if you look closely, somehow, you can see a little house with a tree. Though that could just be my imagination especially given the mysterious cover artwork. Everything about the photos looks spontaneous and well-photographed. In particular, I love the last photo of TK, 345, Pierre Nakano, and a cheerful-looking new face.

Lastly, we have TK’s actual photography. That’s correct. The first set of photos are not by TK but by someone else, Camille Blake. The big difference being with TK’s photography you can just tell he seems to like to mess with lighting and prefers foggy photography.

All in all, the es or s photobook is pretty wonderful. It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that I may have been excited for this latest Ling Tosite Sigure music release given the photobook. I like musician photobooks. I guess I’m curious about the musicians I favor.
