This is such a strange phenomenon, Ling Tosite Sigure music. After listening to the music for days I have made a discovery that all my thoughts from the review I first did were wrong.
This might still be Ling Tosite Sigure incorporating Pop elements, but still maintaining their level of complexity. My biggest worry after listening through es or s (the first few times) is that perhaps TK and Ling Tosite Sigure might be compromising their values just a smidge, but in retrospect they aren’t. At all. How do I know this?
Well. A tell-tale sign is the music changed on me. But no, that is incorrect to say. I mean technically the music cannot change. Rather my perception of the music changed. This doesn’t happen in music at all. When you hear music it remains the way it is. The way you experience it doesn’t just change! …It’s just bizarre. Good bizarre, but bizarre nonetheless.
It’s quite funny but it did happen with Best of Tornado too, now that I think back on it. I remember listening to a few songs for quite some time and thinking, Ling Tosite Sigure, have such a clean and poignant sound, but it’s a little rough and could scare away a few listeners not used to this type of music. But after a month of listening through Best of Tornado, one night, as I was moving through Best of Tornado and some of their older songs which can be found on Disc 3, the music, I guess just opened up to me. I could make sense of the music. I could see what TK and Ling Tosite Sigure were going for and I was just in awe of them. How incredible they could be and TK’s raw energy.
My perspective changing with concern to the music is a little alarming, especially because I’m very stubborn at times. So this continues to be new to me. Although I’m a little disappointed at myself. That it took me 4 months to acclimate to es or s, while it took me only 1 month to acclimate to Best of Tornado.
I feel like I should apologize or something because I was thinking of es or s as merely a very good album instead of a phenomenal one. Seriously after these past few months of listening to es or s, I can safely say all the songs are pretty darn amazing. If not, on the same level as their past work. Not to mention TK’s singing continues to become even more versatile!
Important! I won’t be deleting my previous review of es or s. I feel like it’s a learning experience. From now on, I will write reviews about Ling Tosite Sigure’s music with the express notice that they are first impressions and always follow-up on reviews of any Ling Tosite Sigure music where needed.
